These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BooX app, operated by BooX app ("BooX", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using BooX, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
You must be at least 13 years old to use BooX. If the law in your country sets a higher minimum age for using online services without parental consent (for example, 16 in some EU member states), you must meet that age or have your parent or guardian's consent.
You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and for all activity under your account. One account per person; don't share your account or impersonate someone else.
BooX has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. The words, sentences, titles, comments, and covers you and other users create are user-generated content, and by posting content you agree not to post anything that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative (especially involving minors, which is never permitted under any circumstance), defamatory, or that infringes someone else's intellectual property or privacy rights. You can report objectionable content directly in the app, and you can block another user directly in the app — blocking immediately removes that user's content from your feed and notifies us. We act on reports within 24 hours, which may include removing the reported content and suspending or permanently banning accounts that violate these rules, at our discretion and without prior notice in serious cases.
You retain ownership of the words and contributions you personally write. Because BooX books are collaborative, by contributing to a book you grant BooX, your co-authors, and (once a book is published) other readers a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute your contribution as part of that shared book, for as long as the book exists on the service. You grant BooX itself a similar license to operate, promote, and improve the service, including generating an AI cover from a book's text at an author's request.
BooX lets you generate a book cover using a third-party AI image model, based on an excerpt of your book's text. You're responsible for making sure the underlying book text is content you're allowed to turn into an image request. AI-generated images can be unpredictable; BooX doesn't guarantee any particular result and may decline or substitute a generation that violates the AI provider's own content policies.
Free accounts may create one book. Creating additional books requires an active auto-renewing subscription, billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play at the price shown at purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings, not in the BooX app itself. Subscribing does not itself include any AI-cover credits — generating a cover always draws from your separate credit balance (your first cover is free; further covers require purchased credits). AI-cover credit packs are one-time consumable purchases (1 credit = 1 AI cover generation). Purchased credits do not expire but have no cash value, aren't transferable between accounts, and (like all purchases) are non-refundable except where required by law or platform policy. Finishing and publishing a book never requires a cover or a credit — you can always finish a book with a default cover instead. Refunds for any purchase are handled by Apple or Google under their own refund policies, not directly by BooX.
You may stop using BooX and delete your account at any time from Account > Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, including our content and conduct rules.
If your account is banned for violating these Terms, any active subscription tied to that account is cancelled and your access ends immediately, without refund for the current or any prior billing period.
BooX is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular content (including AI-generated covers) will meet your expectations.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BooX and its operators won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law (for example, certain consumer-protection rights in the EU/UK).
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by other reasonable means before they take effect. Continuing to use BooX after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
